Wenger contests FA charge
Arsene Wenger has denied a Football Association charge of improper conduct over comments about striker Ruud van Nistelrooy. The Arsenal boss reportedly called the Dutchman a "cheat" after his team's stormy 2-0 loss at Manchester United last month, an allegation Wenger denies.
The FA's website said Wenger, who was charged this month, had requested a personal hearing.
Van Nistelrooy was suspended for three matches after a bad tackle on Arsenal defender Ashley Cole during the defeat at Old Trafford which ended Arsenal's record 49-match unbeaten league run.
Wenger has denied media reports saying he called the Dutch striker a cheat.
